DIY Ilmoitustaulu

The rain just doesn't stop and the darkness is creeping in. No other choice than staying and trying to find something to do (read: don't know where to start). At least I managed to found a couple of cool christmas deco ideas which I'll be doing during next week.

Lupailin jo että laitan kuvia tekemisistäni eilen, valitettavasti ilta venyi enkä enää jaksanut laittaa kuvia. Mutta nyt niitä tulee!
I promised to post pics about yesterday but when I was ready, it was way too late. So here they come!

Aloitankin meidän "ilmoitustaulusta". Löysin kivan idean aikoja sitten Tatertorts & Jello blogista ja sovelsin tuota ideaa itselleni sopivaksi. Tuon taustakankaan etsimiseenkin meni oma aikansa.
I started with our "info wall". I found a great idea from Tatertorts & Jello blog and changed it to fit my home. It took a while to find the right canvas!

Tässä mitä ilmoitustauluun tarvitaan:
Here's what you need:

  • Kehykset (itse ostin Ikeasta 40x50cm kokoiset peruskehykset)
  • Vasara, sakset, liitukynä että saat leikattua oikean kokoisen palan kankaasta
  • Haluamaasi kangasta, omani taas Ikeasta
  • Pakkauslankaa tai metallilankaa niinkuin alkuperäisessä ohjeessa
  • Nauloja ja hakasia

  • Photoframes (mine are 40x50m frames from Ikea)
  • Hammer, scissors, chalkpen so you know you are cutting the right amount of the fabric ;)
  • Canvas of your choice, mine was again from Ikea
  • Thread or metallthread like in the original post
  • Nails and hooks
Aloitin kankaan leikkaamisella ja ompelin sivut saumurilla ettei kangas rupea purkaantumaan sivuilta.
I started by cutting the cancas and I also sewing the sides so that the canvas doesn't start to fray.

Tämän jälkeen sovitin kankaan kehyksiin ja hakkasin pieniä nauloja sivuihin, jotta kangas kiristyisi.
After this I fitted the canvas to the frames and hit the nails to the sides. This made the canvas really tight.

Lopuksi tein molemmille sivuille kaksi reikää ja kiersin hakaset reikiin. Pingotin langan hakasiin niin että ne kestätävät postikortit, laskut sun muut.
Finally I made two holes on both sides and twisted the hooks in them. I streached the theads so tight that it would hold postcards, bills and all the other things.

Ja tältä näyttää lopputulos:
The end result looked like this:

Ilmoitustaulun ilmeen saa erilaiseksi toisenlaisilla kehyksillä tai kankaalla.. jokainen saa päättää miltä oma ilmoitustaulu näyttää :)
The way your info wall is going to look like is all based on the frames and canvas you use. Everyone can decide themselves ;)
